cooking classThroughout the month of February, All Saints Episcopal Church is hosting an array of classes to help fight off the winter blues. There are dance classes, cooking classes, arts and crafts, and much more. Whether you are interested in learning more about your favorite hobby or are interested in exploring something new, After Dark at All Saints provide you a great opportunity to expand your horizons while vacationing in the Outer Banks with Surf Side Hotel.

Awesome Desserts in a Pinch

Love to bake? This dessert making course explores quick and delicious treats you can create when cut short on time. Enjoy a sampling of the desserts along with a glass of wine or a tasty “mocktail” while learning some baking and plating techniques from local pastry chef Angel Doebler. The guests at your next dinner party are sure to love the beautiful dessert creation you whip up!

Bird House Gourds

Birdwatchers and gardeners alike are sure to enjoy this fun and creative two night course hosted by Mary Keith Lilly on Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26. Not only will you get learn all about growing gourds, but you will also get to make your own birdhouse out of a locally grown gourd. Pick up some tips for attracting birds to your garden and hand your beautiful creation as the weather warms up at home this spring.

Reflexology for Couples and Friends

The perfect class for couples enjoying a romantic vacation in the Outer Banks, this reflexology course teaches you some basic techniques for applying pressure to points of the feet. Experience the stress relief and relaxation that reflexology is known for, and take some knowledge home for further use. This course is held on Thursday, February 11 and participants should bring a pillow and lightweight socks.

Test and Train Your Palate – Blind Wine Tasting

Designed for the wine lover, this course will introduce you to the complex and delicious notes found in red and white wines. Blind tastings will allow you to train your palate while instructor John Lenhart teaches you about the beverages you are trying on Monday, February 8.

The above list includes just a few of the many intriguing and unique courses being offered at After Dark with All Saints this year. Each class costs $20 for adults and $10 for individuals under the age of 18. All proceeds will go to local charities and some classes will have additional fees to cover the cost of materials.
