2016 is here and now that the busy holiday season is officially over, it is the perfect time to start planning a vacation to the Outer Banks. Here at Surf Side Hotel, we can’t think of any better way to rest and rejuvenate than with a trip to the ocean shore this February. Another great reason to head to OBX: the Simon and Garfunkel tribute duo that will be performing on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
Hear the sounds of the famous folk-rock group Simon and Garfunkel once again as A.J. Swearingen and Jayne Kelli perform at First Flight High School. Hosted by Outer Banks Forum for the Lively Arts, the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets cost $28 and students are $15. Purchase them here or head to the box office at 6:30 p.m. on the night of the event.
This year is the Outer Banks Forum’s 33rd season of working to bring quality entertainment to the residents and visitors of the Outer Banks. A nonprofit group that began in 1983 to bring speakers to the area, performances have shifted over the years to take on a musical theme. Scholarships are awarded yearly to local high school graduates heading to college with majors in the arts and master classes offer young musicians the opportunity to hone their skills with the help of experienced performers.
Attending the Simon and Garnfunkel tribute show is not only a chance to enjoy some great music, but is also an opportunity to support local arts and teens. If you are planning to book a February vacation to Surf Side Hotel, this show is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the Outer Banks community while listening to some much-loved music from the past.
