Nags Head is Open

Surf Side Hotel beach love nags head reopening

We are excited to announce that Nags Head is open. Some restrictions are still in effect for the beach. Also restaurant seating and occupancy is limited, along with parks, businesses and more.

As you travel to Nags Head and enjoy the beach, be sure to keep safety in mind. Social distancing doesn’t end when you hit the sand, spread out to slow the spread by staying 6 feet apart.

Indoor and outdoor pools have reduced occupancy to 50 percent while following specific public health requirements. Surf Side Hotel pools included.

Parks are open, but playgrounds remain closed for now. This includes playgrounds in Manns Harbor, Avon, Kill Devil Hills, the Rodanthe Community Center Playground and the playground at Wescott Park.

The Fessenden Center Skate Park and the Kitty Hawk Dog Park are open. Please respect social distancing guidelines. (The Roanoke Island Dog Park is closed temporarily due to construction.) For the latest, visit here…

As restaurants reopen to welcome dine-in customers, they are working hard and adding new safety measures in an effort to protect you and your loved ones. Several businesses have taken the Outer Banks Tourism Pledge and are sharing their specific safety steps. Check ’em out, and be sure to do your part too!

Many restaurants continue to offer carry out and/or delivery. Call ahead for specific menus and hours of operation. You can see the list here…

Some businesses will remain closed in Phase 2 including: bars; night clubs; gyms and indoor fitness facilities; indoor entertainment venues such as movie theaters, and bowling alleys.

Certain businesses will be open at limited capacity with other requirements and recommendations including: restaurants at 50% dine-in capacity with distancing and cleaning requirements; personal care businesses, including salons and barbers, at 50% capacity with distancing and cleaning requirements; and as stated above, pools at 50% capacity with distancing and cleaning requirements. Employees of personal care businesses (grooming, massage, and tattoo businesses) will be required to wear face coverings and put at least six feet of distance between customers at 50 percent reduced occupancy.

Open retail businesses are allowed to open at 50% capacity will continue at that level during this current phase. More info here…

We are excited our beaches, ocean and businesses are open for everyone’s enjoyment. For safety sake, we encourage you to heed all beach safety and health standards. It will take all of us to continue to keep each other safe.
