Soundside Live: What’s Better Than Live Music on the Beach?

For all those music lovers out there, you’re going to want to stop out to the Outer Banks area for the 2015 Soundside Live concert! Though this event was originally slated to take place at the Outer Banks Event Site, weather-related delays have put a damper on renovations. As such, organizers have decided to relocate the fun to Jennette’s Pier – but that’s not all that’s changing. This once ticketed event will now be FREE to the public!

Taking place on Thursday May 7, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, how could you pass up an opportunity like this? Two amazing bands, Greensky Bluegrass and Roadkill Ghost Choir will be performing throughout the evening and honestly, what’s better than great live music at the beach? For those who are unfamiliar, Greensky Bluegrass is a band that brings the best of two worlds; according to mandolinist, vocalist and songwriter for the band, Paul Hoffman.

“We’re existing in a few different places at once: we’re a bluegrass band and a rock band, we’re song-driven and interested in extended improvisation.”

This incredibly talented and multi-functional band can play anything from acoustic instruments and songs, to putting on an entire rock ’n’ roll show.  Furthermore, while this band is rooted in classic stringband Americana, they get as loud and zealous as any rock band out there.

On the other side of the spectrum, Roadkill Ghost Choir is a band that has emerged from the heart of Central Florida. With a powerful Tom Petty meets Radiohead sound, the band released their debut EP ‘Quiet Light’ in 2013 while touring with Band of Horses.

If you ask us, this is truly a can’t-miss event and it’s only a bonus that the event happens to land during National Tourism Week! So make sure that you book your stay with Surf Side Hotel today. You certainly don’t want to miss out on all the fun!
