Things are changing in Nags Head this June, with a weeklong Craft Beer event occurring in place of the single-day OBX Brewfest! The festivities take place from May 30 to June 5, 2016 and if you are a fan of the town’s annual craft beer celebration, we recommend planning your vacation right away. This is one event that is sure to sell out.
There is something exciting occurring every day of the week, offering you plenty of opportunities to sample incredible craft beers and delicious local food.
The week begins with a three-night long film festival, screening two comedies – “Strange Brews” and “Drinking Buddies” – as well a the 2009 documentary “Drinking Buddies”. Other weekday events include Brewvana (a drinking yoga experience) and the Craft Beer Art Show, but the activities that take place on the weekend are the ones we are most excited about.
Swimsuits & 6-Packs
Spend your Saturday at the beach during the informal Swimsuits & 6-Packs Party! Bring a 6-pack of your favorite brew from home, swapping beverages and stories with individuals from around the country. The perfect way to rest up before Sunday’s exciting events, all you need to pack are a few craft brews, a swimsuit and towel.
Sunday afternoon will have you enjoying craft beers from more than 40 breweries while shopping with local artisans and listening to live music at OBX Brewfest. Soja, Keller & The Keels, The Heard, and Formula will all take the stage throughout the day, allowing for an entertaining and unique mix of musical tastes.
The crowd-favorite Game Zone will also be back this year with Human Foosball, Life-Size Jenga, Keg Bowling and more for you to play!
Brewathalon Craft Beer Adventure Race
The second annual event of its kind, the Brewathalon Craft Beer Adventure Race includes five different Outer Banks activities as well as traditional beer drinking games. Kayak, run and SUP board your way across Nags Head while playing games like horseshoes and corn hole to compete for brewery prize packs and award certificates.
